Training

Chris Walter Photography prides itself in staying up-to-date on the latest trends in photography,  weddings, equipment, props, poses etc.  To stay on top of things, Chris and Linda attend seminars, workshops, classes and one-on-one instruction from the different photographic associations that we are members of.  As stated under "Credentials", Chris is a PPA Certified Photographer and there are requirements in continuing education for him to maintain this certification.

One of our favorite conventions is the annual Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI).    WPPI consists of 6 days of seminars, album and print competitions and trade shows.   We are learning from the top photographers in the country at this show and seeing the latest in equipment, albums, props, and photographic style.

Some other classes that one or both of us attend is the annual Texas Professional Photographers Association (TPPA) held in Kerrville, Texas each summer.  There are classes daily as well as more print and album competitions.  This is where we won the award for "Best Overall Custom Wedding Presentation" for our Deluxe Collage Album.  Texas School is a week long class held at Texas A & M  University where you have more seminars and lots of "hands-on" training. 

We could go on and on with the training and learning experiences that we have, but one that we attend every month is held here in Houston and is the monthly meeting of the Professional Photographers Guild of Houston (PPGH).  Again, there is one speaker each month and more album and print competitions.

If a photographer does not stay up-to-date, then he will fall behind and blend in with the other photographers that do not stay current.  We were one of the first photographers in Houston to offer the digital Collage Album back in 2002.  This was one of the new "hot trends" we discovered at WPPI in February 2002.   By that summer, we had our first digital collage album on display and it quickly became our top seller.   Many other photographers were stopping by to view the album during bridal shows. 

We want to be recognized as an innovative company, one that has what all of those fashion and wedding magazines are showing our clients.
